It all began in 1899. Daniel and Hermann Beissbarth created Gebruder Beissbarth. Gebruder Beissbarth was the first automobile factory in Bavaria. They began by building the chassis for Wartburg Motor Company. Wartburg was later acquired by BMW. The BMW 3/15 DA3 Wartburg was BMW's first sports car.
